"Always I remember you"

Always I remember you. It's been days, weeks, months, and years. You are just but a fleeting memory. Yet, now and then I lose myself in the nostalgic sounds of Panama's 'Always' just so I can recall you.

We started with a festival, a walk, a dance, a kiss. Your friend was the first to talk to me but I couldn't help just to stare at you. You told me you were only here for a few months, yet that didn't hold me back from wanting to be around you. I did my best to "just be friends." It was best given the circumstances. But then you surprised me with a kiss as we danced to 'Hold on, We're Going Home.' Right then and there, you disarmed me by truth, and broke my mold. You confided in me about your family, your ambitions, and your career. I fell for your tattoos, your 'stache', and your fearless soul. You made me laugh, you made me blush, you made me feel special. You made me question a lifetime of fears. You made me want to ask you slow down so I can follow you. But time caught up to us. We inevitably had to part. I was neither sad or heartbroken. I was grateful for you. I kissed you intensely. You hugged me tightly.

We ended with a photo strip, a word, a phrase, a band, a song. And always I remember you.

Now, I must say goodbye my deeper child, time to break down your barricades, and follow your own heart.
